Anthem

Anthem’s generous funding has been instrumental in to providing the space and resources needed to reduce the negative health outcomes associated with substance use through the lens of harm reduction, which ultimately provide more individuals equitable care and an opportunity to maintain compliance with their healthcare providers in supporting the establishment of the Health and Wellness Lounge.

Their commitment to community health has enabled us to eliminate the barriers to persons with SSUD receiving life-saving resources influenced of poverty, ACES, food insecurities, and lack of access to resources. Through Anthem’s support, we have expanded our reach to individuals more individuals have access to vital health services.

The Health and Wellness Lounge will allow participants to utilize case management and peer support services. Navigating the many systems can be a daunting task. Providing a supportive partner to assist an individual in addressing those above would greatly improve health outcomes in our targeted area. A Targeted Case Manager would be assigned participants and complete a wellness assessment reviewing activities of daily living. Participants would develop a plan of sustainability with their case manager. A harm reduction peer support member would become a partner to the participant in their journey to healing.

Gilead

Gilead Sciences has played a crucial role in our efforts to combat the opioid epidemic. Their funding has allowed us to enhance our services for individuals living with or at risk for HIV. Gilead’s investment in our programs has facilitated the provision of HIV testing, counseling, and linkage to care, which are essential components of our harm reduction strategy.

HepConnect

The HepConnect initiative, funded by Gilead, specifically targets the hepatitis C crisis in our region. With HepConnect’s support, KyHRC has increased hepatitis C testing and treatment access. This initiative has significantly improved our capacity to identify and treat individuals with hepatitis C, reducing the spread of this preventable disease and improving health outcomes for those affected.

Kentucky Agency For Substance Use Policy (KYASAP)

KYASAP’s funding has been vital in bolstering our substance use prevention and intervention programs. Their support has enabled us to implement evidence-based strategies to reduce substance use and its associated harms by providing Naloxone and Naloxone Overdose reversal training in the counties of Jefferson, Bullitt, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer, and Trimble. Through this partnership, we have developed targeted campaigns and educational programs aimed at preventing substance misuse and promoting recovery.

Kentucky Opioid Abatement Advisory Committee

The Kentucky Opioid Abatement Advisory Committee has provided essential funding to address the opioid crisis at the local level. Their support has allowed KyHRC to expand our opioid overdose prevention initiatives, including the distribution of naloxone and the implementation of community education programs to the counties of Bullitt, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer and Trimble. This funding has been critical in reducing opioid-related deaths and supporting individuals in their journey to recovery.

Kentucky Opioid Response Effort (KORE)

The Kentucky Opioid Response Effort (KORE) has been a cornerstone of our response to the opioid epidemic. With KORE’s support, we have enhanced our harm reduction services, including syringe exchange programs, peer support, and treatment referrals. This funding has been pivotal in reaching vulnerable populations and providing the resources needed to combat the opioid crisis effectively.

Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness

The Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness has been a key partner in our local harm reduction efforts. Their funding has supported a wide range of initiatives, from overdose prevention to health education and community outreach. This partnership has strengthened our ability to address public health challenges and improve the well-being of Louisville residents.

National Harm Reduction Coalition

The National Harm Reduction Coalition has been a guiding force in our work, providing both funding and strategic support. Their investment has helped us build capacity, develop best practices, and advocate for harm reduction policies at the state and national levels. This collaboration has been essential in advancing our mission and expanding our impact.

University of Kentucky College of Nursing

The University of Kentucky College of Nursing has provided invaluable support through research and funding for harm reduction programs with reproductive health education and resources such as pregnancy tests, plan B, prenatal vitamins, and contraception. Their contributions have enabled us to implement innovative health interventions, improve service delivery, and establish referral sites for perinatal and reproductive health and healthcare, once established work with healthcare teams to reduce stigma and marginalize􀆟 people who use drugs or have SUD. This partnership has also facilitated important research initiatives that inform best practices in harm reduction.

Vital Strategies

Vital Strategies has been a critical ally in our efforts to reduce overdose deaths and improve public health. Their funding has supported a range of harm reduction activities, from public awareness campaigns to direct service provision. This support has been instrumental in scaling our programs and enhancing our ability to respond to the needs of the communities we serve.

Each of these funders has made a profound impact on our ability to provide essential services and support to individuals affected by substance use and related health issues.
